Theme

The session will have a special theme, which will act as an umbrella for many of the committee topics that will be discussed during Committee Work, as well as being central for various activities and events. The session’s theme will be under the title:

“Social inclusion of the youth and the vulnerable groups”.

Since 2010 is the “Year of combatting apoverty and social exclusion” according to the European Comission, the session will offer a great opportunity to discuss such a multi-dimensional topic, which touches issues from racism and equal opportunities to life-long learning and e-Inclusion.

The topic is especially relevant to the area of Naousa, where rates of unemployment are reaching 40%. For these reasons, a workshop dealing with human rights and social inclusion issues will be conducted, with the participation of Greek and European NGOs, as well as politicians and other decision makers. Also, some of the 9 committee topics will be directly or indirectly connected to social inclusion.
